For Obama, hope has its limits
Apparently when it comes to Barack Obama and high gas prices hope has its limits.
At a time when gas prices have now reached $4.00 per gallon in the City of Chicago and American families are hoping for relief at the pump, Barack Obama is intent on opposing John McCain’s plan to place a moratorium on the federal gas tax.
In 2000 Obama thought putting a moratorium on the Illinois gas tax was a good idea, now he believes placing a moratorium on the federal tax is a “bad idea.”
The Illinois moratorium saved the people hundreds of millions of dollars at the pump - but McCain’s plan is a bad idea?
It appears Barack Obama’s idea of hope really does have its limits - especially when it comes to lower taxes and lower gas prices for the American people.

No liberal ever beliefs in a tax cut, Obama is not special. He’s an empty suit full of hot air. …. Open up America’s territory for exploration and production. Dump this phoney theory about global warming and set this country into the right direction.

We are having the wrong discussion with these politicians. If we had built refineries and explored and drilled more wells in the known locations, we would not be having to talk about how we are going to afford the higher gas prices. The Democrat solution for the oil and energy problem is that we need to conserve. They don’t want any more oil to be produced or refined in this country. Oil companies are flush with profits waiting to spend them on drilling, refining, etc. Instead it piles up in their bank accounts and are easy targets for the Democrats who want to levy an excess profits tax or have them pay for any Federal tas holiday on gas. The government siphons three trillion out of the economy, BUT DON”T TAKE ANY MONEY OUT OF THEIR POCKETS! No, we can’t suspend the Federal Tax on gas because they want as much money as they can get while all the time pointing the finger at those nasty oil companies and their profits. Companies that take great risk in exploring and delivering fuel to our economy. They can’t drill off the East or West coast, in Anwar, in the Gulf, the Dakota’s, etc. The Democrats ridiculed the Bush administration for talking to the oil companies about coming up with an energy policy. Who the hell was he suppose to talk to, restaurant owners?? They are so two-faced on this issue. On the one hand they tell us that they feel our pain and if we elect them, they will do something about it. On the other hand, they think the solution is conservation. So, go out and buy some fluorescent light bulbs and ride your bike to work and we will all live happily after.

Why doesn’t the media bring out more negatives about Obama? Be brave….just do it! It will save the future of our country from the average American that keeps their head in the sand.

My oppinion has and will not be a good one. He hardly ever votes on the issues here in Illinois. He is too busy campaigning for President, when He has NOT completed His job as Senator. If I was elected as a Senator in Illinois, I would vote on EVERY BILL or issue that came up for a vote! That is part of His duty as a Senator. In My humble oppinion,”He is not a good Senator at all!”. He is just another young KID wanting to go to the top, and not earn His dues, so to speak. I will NOT vote for Him EVER! He needs to look in the mirror and reflect on what His responsibilities are as a Senator, FIRST and as a Candidate second are. He has failed on that score. Also, Obama shows that He does not have much Bussiness SENSE at all! John McCain has worked most of His life as a Public Servant for His State and America. I personally do not agree on everything John says or has done, but He is the MOST QUALIFIED out of the three running for President. You may have My permission to print what I said in this reply. Sincerely, James

I think this is the least of his problems. America needs to be very aware of just exactly what this guy stands for. Today April 28th he tried to distance himself from Rev.Wright, not working on me or anybody else who can still think without the government telling you what to think. He chose that church twenty years ago and was still attending when he started to run for office. It wasn’t until the videos of the Rev. sermonds was made public that he has tried to distance himself from his church and Rev. Wright. SHAME ON YOU OBAMA FOR THE LIES YOU TELL AMERICA!!!!!!!

Obama is a very good choice for President, IF, you believe in higher taxes for the middle class, (even possibly the lower income class, higher prices at the gas pumps, higher prices in the grocery store, department store, clothes and any other item people use (because everything we use must be transported on a truck which uses fuel) and bigger government. Think back to the 2004 Democratic Convention. This young Illinois Senator who had won the primary election for U.S. Senator but was not yet elected as a U.S. Senator, was the keynote speaker at the convention. He has been being groomed for EXACTLY what he is doing by the Democrate Party. While an Illinois Senator he voted the “wrong” way several times because he hit the wrong button because of the very short time constraint for his vote, not to mention on controversial issues he voted present, supposedly sending a message to the sponsor of the bill that he was willing to continue negotiations on the bill.
To be in the White House he doesn’t have to worry about pushing the wrong button to vote an issue nor does he have to worry about even voting on an issue. He would need to listen to his advisors, wonder who they would be, Rev. Wright, Mr Aires, or some other radical personality?
Yep, anyone that does not have a problem with the afore mentioned issues, Barack Obama is without a doubt the right choice. If you have a problem with the mentioned issues then he is NOT THE RIGHT CHOICE.

The democrates talk about conserving energy while they fly around the country in private jets. They should lead by example.

I hope the McCain campaign takes note of Obama’s 2000 position on the gas tax. I can picture it now: a well-prepared McCain burns Obama with the latter’s 2000 position in a nationally televised debate. Obama desperately attempts to argue that the tax really won’t help. He fails to realize, though, that the summer gas tax holiday really does matter. It offers confidence and dare I say it, “hope”. As a result, more and more Americans will confidently choose to travel on weekends and holidays this summer. Obama fails to realize that Americans welcome any kind of tax relief that helps in our daily lives. I want my presidential candidate talking about urging the oil companies to keep finding more oil, like in Montana.
