Governor Blagojevich has an expensive habit of flying on private jets. It is costing Illinois taxpayers thousands of dollars a day!

Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s practice of flying from Chicago to Springfield and back for daily budget negotiations is costing taxpayers more than $5,800 a day, for a total of roughly $76,000 and climbing.

An Associated Press analysis of state flight records shows Blagojevich made eight round trips on state airplanes from May 22 to June 7. He spent an average of less than five hours in Springfield each time, including travel time to and from the capital airport.

On a ninth trip, he stayed over two nights as lawmakers tried to meet their May 31 budget-approval deadline.The cost of the travel was $52,540.

    I don’t understand why he have to use private jet to his home in Chicago then fly back to Springfield every day that our taxpayer to pay for his trip. It is not right.

    What is wrong with Governor’s home? State of Illinois already provide for his families. It is only four year as one term.

    Every U.S. President stay at the White House for many years. It is very wise.

    I think that if he don’t like it then he should pay for the cost of flight from his own pocket for this trip.
